Relating to Candidates on Ballot Papers
Publication of a notice in the Gazette is given on 30 April 2004 that for the applications received before the relevant cut-off date (1 April 2004) of current annual registration cycle, Electoral Affairs Commission (“EAC”) may grant the subject of application of the prescribed bodies and prescribed persons. Subject to section 15 of the Particulars Relating to Candidates on Ballot Papers (Legislative Council) Regulation, any person may, within 14 days after the publication of the notice, object to the granting of the applications for the registration of an abbreviation of the Chinese name or the English name of the prescribed bodies and an emblem of the prescribed bodies or prescribed persons. An objection must be made in the relevant specified form, which may be obtained from the District Offices or the Registration and Electoral Office. The completed form must be submitted to the Chief Electoral Officer (Address: 10th Floor, Harbour Centre, 25 Harbour Road, Wanchai, Hong Kong).
