PANG Kin-kee
Chairman, EAC |
Welcome
to this Homepage. You are entering a tour of the electoral
arrangements of Hong Kong, and to be exact, the Hong Kong
Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of
China since 1 July 1997, when China resumed the exercise of
its sovereignty over Hong Kong.
The Electoral Affairs Commission ("EAC") is a statutory
body established under the EAC Ordinance and there are three
members. They are Mr Lawrence Lok, Professor Andrew Chan and
myself. The EAC is an independent, apolitical and impartial
body.
Our main tasks are to make recommendations on the delineation
of Legislative Council and District Council constituency boundaries in Hong Kong and to make regulations,
guidelines and arrangements for the conduct of public elections
in Hong Kong, including the registration of electors. We also
supervise all the elections. Our main aim is to ensure that
elections are conducted honestly, fairly and openly.
